Marc Jacobs Ostrich Stam

So this is love?! I am on handbag love overload.

Yesterday I brought you a metallic Bronzo true love, the YSL Volcano Tote, which I literally dreamed about, and now I am bringing you the feminine exotic from Marc Jacobs. Marc Jacobs is a man of many wonders. His designs at times are misses, but with the Marc Jacobs Ostrich Stam he found his way into every woman’s heart, with the perfect combination of color, pale pink, and leather, ostrich. I don’t know about you but this bag rocks right to my core, sending me notions of girly wonders that remind me just why I love being a woman. The ability to pair a powerful suit with the perfect feminine accessory is something men must have bag-envy over! Amanda recently covered this rendition of the Stam, labeled the Marc Jacobs Sunburst Stam, and at the time I was not sold on it. It was nice, but it took the exotic skin and color to send me into the world of ohhing and ahhing. The silver tone link chain strap is detachable. I am just all kinds of sold on this. Sold on this and yesterdays YSL bag. My fall handbag list would be complete with these two bags. Buy this Marc Jacobs bag through Net A Porter for $5,500.

Dior vs YSL

This Friday is going to be the day of designer vs designer of similar looking bags.

There are only so many things you can do with a handbag and for this very reason many designers have models that are eerily similar to another brand. Sometimes it is on purpose, sometimes not, and sometimes it is a downright copy. So for today, we are going to have a little fun with it!

First we are going to discuss the Dior Medium Dior 61 Tote versus the
Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Medium Flat Tote. This YSL bag has caught our attention before with a really chic gold crackled leather finish. In fact, that exact design still has my heart. Dior has not been on the Purse Blog raider much because, well, let’s face it, some of their designs suck! Dior bags have not met my fancy much at all, until I ran into this one.

The Dior Medium Dior 61 Tote is designed with printed violent patent croc with a flat shape and long body. This is a great throw on your arm bag and stunning for work. The color is beyond divine, beyond drool worthy, beyond oh-so-my-style! There are double handles and this bag is on pre-oder at Saks for $1850.

Then we have the recognizable Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Medium Flat Tote. Again, this tote I love and most of us know the design well. It has been done in patent leather, cracked leather, and also croc-embossed leather. This flat tote is quite similar to the Dior tote, showing off a long body with a slight diameter. Perfect for papers but not big enough for the kitchen sink. Buy through Saks for $1395.

So now we have two bags from two very different designers that share a close resemblance. But which do you prefer? The Dior or the YSL?

New Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite

Finally a new Louis Vuitton line that men can get really excited about. I know I am.

Vuitton debuts the Damier Graphite line of accessories in the attempt to revive, redo and revisit the traditional, checkered Damier design. Discreet, yet wonderfully masculine, the new canvas spans across classics, such as the Keepall 55, the Grimaud or the Cabas. Adding to the fine range of travel bags, LV reveals the new Roadster, a 24h-sport bag with a wide zippered flap for easy access. Even a Damier Graphite Motorcycle Helmet is available for enthusiasts who insist on sporting the ultimate in chic whilst cruising cross Roma on their Vespas.

The new line is available in Louis Vuitton boutiques worldwide starting this weekend, soon to be available through eLuxury as well.

Louis Vuitton Epi Alma

I have never denied or hidden the fact that I am a huge fan of Louis Vuitton.

While the monogram line does not always tickle my fancy, I find Louis Vuitton to be one of the longstanding luxury brands left designing bags. Not every bag is a homerun, but there are plenty of great options every season. But if you do not want the glitz and glam, opt for the Louis Vuitton Epi Line. I have brought up the Epi line often, speaking of its ease of cleaning, lack of logos, and overall likability.

The Alma comes in a classic shape, is light-weight, and available in an array of colors from the Epi line. Cassis, Ivoire, Black, Red, and Grenade are the colors available in the Louis Vuitton Epi Alma, the textured hand-held carryall which is a staple of the house. The bag is named after the Place de l’Alma, the grand Paris square at the end of Avenue Montaigne.

The Alma features textured leather and is trimmed with smooth leather. The inside is lined with Alcantara lining (which is precisely what Vlad goes gaga over in his favorite luxury cars). Buy through eLuxury for $1,240.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Galliera

The countdown has officially begun for those on the Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy list!

Luckily I am on the list and I am quite excited to get my Speedy and use it for summer. The only unfortunate part is that it arrives in stores on May 1st, and I fly out May 1st for my trip to Spain. Oh well, I can wait 11 days to get back and get the bag! The other bag that is highly coveted and newly arrived to eLuxury is the Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Galliera. This is a new addition to the Monogram Canvas line for LV and the perfect touch for spring and summer. This bag features the monogram canvas that we all are very familiar with, shiny golden brass hardware, and a LV inventeur plate on the front. The shape will give this bag the perfect slouch, with an adjustable belted leather should strap. The inside is lined with microfiber and there are ample pockets for storage. The PM is already out of stock but the GM, 18.7″x 14.8″x 5.3″, is still readily available on eLuxury for $1,360.
If you are hoping for a Watercolor Speedy make sure to call your local LV! My LV of choice is the fabulous Bal Harbour shops!

Burberry Check Net Drawstring Bag

We arrived in New York yesterday and were greeted with a cold, wet New York day.

Really, I did not bring an umbrella as I assumed The Big Apple would be thrilled we are here and would cease all stormy weather. Today again, more rain. After a great day yesterday (lots of pictures and an interview to follow), today is another day we are looking forward to. I made Vlad go to Duane Reade to grab us some umbrellas, just cheap black ones that keep the rain off. When I look outside our window I see mostly black specs of umbrellas briskly walking the streets of New York, intermittent with some Burberry Check pattern ones. We have not covered Burberry handbags in a while, so I find it fitting to cover one today. I spotted the Burberry Check Net Drawstring Bag which redesigns the classic check into a net drawstring bag. This is a great resort bag, especially with the drawstring top giving it such a beach vibe. The nova net is trimmed with leather and the top handles are also leather (which drop 11.5″ at their longest). One thing I am not keen on is the lack of pockets, but the dimensions are still great for a beach tote, 15″W X 17″H X 6″D. Are you a fan or is this bag a waste? Buy through Saks for $995.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Sac Baxter PM

Am I the only one that immediately thinks of Anchorman when I hear of a dog named Baxter?

Ok, so maybe you did not like the movie, maybe you did not see it, but those of you that did will understand how hard it is to hear Baxter and not think of Will Ferrell’s trusty dog. I could not see Will carrying Baxter around in a pet carrier, but I know many people love to keep their pets with them at all times. Jessica Simpson has been one of the leading ladies seen carrying her pup Daisy in Louis Vuitton dog carrier. Now there is a new version released by Louis Vuitton, the Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Sac Baxter PM which is designed with monogram canvas and trimmed with natural cowhide. This dog carrier looks more like a handbag from the front, sporting a flapped pouch pocket with polished golden brass hardware. The side panel unzips, folds over, and secures with snaps to give the perfect luxury room away from home for your pet. Measurements are 13.8″x 10.4″x 6.5″. I have only had one dog in my life, and he is a black lab who can not fit in a dog carrier. I am not sure that if I had a small dog I would take him/her around with me everywhere, but this is a great option for the owner who loves luxury and their pup. Buy through eLuxury for $1360.

Jimmy Choo Face Clutch

Jimmy Choo’s Tamara Mellon teamed up with Richard Phillips to create two Limited Edition art bags for the Spring/Summer 08 handbag line.

The first bag, the Jimmy Choo Face Canvas Bag, was not accepted widely by all of you. On the face bag, the four faces are taken from Phillips portrait Riot (1998). For the 70’s style Jimmy Choo Face Clutch, the sensual Richard Phillips Nuclear portrait is showcased on the smooth curves and red background of the bag. The frame of the clutch is made with Bakelite (resin) and gives off a very vintage look. For me, the clutch is a huge improvement from the tote. The tote is said to be a beach bag, and I just find it a bit creepy really. But the clutch is subtle and sensual, adding an artistic touch without being overboard. Pre-order through Neiman Marcus for $595.

Chloe Saskia Bag

About three years ago one of the biggest “it” bag frenzies took over the handbag world.

Do you remember which bag it was? The Chloe Paddington of course. Vlad and I were lucky enough to track down our very own Chloe Paddington in Munich, Germany in the summer of 2005. We spent over 13 hours driving that day to pick up the bag. The hype was so high surrounding the bag and I was in shock that we got our hands on one. Any boutique I walked into looked at me as if I had a golden ticket. Really, we struck “it” bag gold that summer. I do not forsee Chloe creating as large a buzz anytime in the near future, but I do see that their new bag could be a huge hit. The Chloe Saski Bag has the ability to attract a lot of attention towards itself, as it is a handbag that shows a similar Paddington appeal. The glossy leather is off-sett with lucite handles and front pockets. There is an Edith feel about the tote version, very easy for everyday wear with a removable shoulder strap. Right now Net A Porter is carrying a turquoise and taupe tote version. While the tote sports beautiful colors, it is the satchel that may take the spotlight. The Chloe Saskia Satchel will be put up tomorrow on Net A Porter and has the ability to be a bit hit. It is very reminiscent of the Paddington, but adds lucite handles, no padlock, and easy-access front flap pockets. Net A Porter will be carrying the above black, red, white, and tan smaller versions tomorrow. We were lucky enough to have them share the bag with us prior to its debut on NAP, so you all can be on the lookout for their release tomorrow. Buy the tote in either turquoise or taupe through Net A Porter for $2,005.

Marc Jacobs Color Block Pouchette

Some say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Though this is true, many times I really beg to differ.

It is easy to sit back and say this phrase when referring to someone else, but when your idea, your grueling work, your sleepless nights, are copied it feels 100% horrible. Actually, it feels so bad you could go find that ’stealer’ and knock them over the head with a salami. When a huge name like Marc Jacobs ‘imitates’ from an even bigger name, Hermes, do you think there are similar feelings? Most likely not, seeing as Hermes is one of the most exclusive design houses in the world. Furthermore, imitating too closely will only make Marc Jacobs look bad. The Marc Jacobs Color Block Pouchette is a case of imitation gone wrong. When imitating, you must take what you see and do it better, or else it is a total flop. This pouchette is a flop, a colorful disaster, and just does not mesh. The colors are indeed bold but they hurt my eyes with the hues placed together, lilac quilted leather and orange trim. The major problem is the double flap top which is finished off with a turn-lock closure and padlock detail. Marc might as well of come clean and just called it the ‘iconic Hermes padlock’. Not only am I not feeling it, but many of the ladies and gents on the Purse Forum are saying shame on Marc Jacobs! Pre-order through Bergdorf Goodman for $1275.

Juicy Couture Flower Tote

Really?? Did you think because floral prints were seen on the runway for Spring/Summer 2008 that this bag would be acceptable.

I understand that you appeal to a younger crowd, but we are talking like tweens and teens, not 3 year olds in daycare. Your Juicy Couture Flower Tote is absolutely one of the worst fug bags I have ever laid my eyes on. There is something about the super cheap floral appliques in the Easter colors that makes me feel a little queasy. This is not even a good beach bag, not a good child’s bag, it is just horrible. And you knew it would be. The fact of the matter is that this large tote, 16″L x 11″W x 6″D, costs less than one of your terry cloth jackets. The pink is horrible, the green is atrocious, and I do not care to see the yellow. Seeing this bag only solidifies the fact that I do indeed hate the Valentino Rosette Tote and I can barely stand to look at the Juicy Couture Flower Tote ($95 via Neiman Marcus).

Kara Ross Handbags

After picking up a tourmaline stone on an African safari and designing it into a ring at the age of 13, Kara Ross knew she had a vision and would love to design.

Kara Ross is now known for her exotic one-of-a-kind handbags, her divine jewelry, and her use of precious and semi-precious stones. Kara expects a woman who wears her designs to have an ‘independent and unique sense of style and be classic yet willing to take risks and stand out’. In 2002, Kara launched a fine jewelry line which was and still is a huge success. And in 2006, she launched her line of exotic handbags. Her handbags have been widely praised and are being carried in stores like Neiman Marcus and being seen in the hands of many celebrities.

Her vision is clear, her designs are breathtaking, and her pieces are truly different from all others. Kara Ross handbags implement classic elegance with a new age touch. The focal point of her bags is the stone that she may use at the closure paired with the exotic skins. Kara is not afraid to mix and match exotics on each bag, really making the handbag stand out and garner all attention. Below are a few of my favorite bags from Kara Ross. Her designs are eye-catching, stunning, and easy to love. Check out more designs, including her jewelry, at Kara Ross online.

2008 Briefcases

Once again, briefcases have become an essential element in work-wear fashion. While they connect you to your forebears who slugged mountains of paperwork home or secreted a sandwich to work, in today’s paperless world they serve a new function.

. In 2008, briefcases carry all the new stuff men need during the day, from the latest personal communication device (PCD) to airline confirmations, and from passports to that granola bar you picked up on the way to work. Some things, thankfully, like the need to travel with necessities and incidentals, never change.

Tod’s Computer Bag: Price tag: $1,200
This 2008 briefcase might set you back a few more dollars than the laptop you’re carrying in it, but, in the end, you’ll own this case long after you’ve bought a few computers to stuff inside. Tod’s is known for refined leather goods, and this case is no exception. Look close and you’ll see that the bottom of the case is studded with the same rubber nubs with which the company soles its driving shoes. This Italian-made briefcase’s side pocket will hold your cell phone or PCD and the adjustable two-tone strap keeps your hands free to carry and sip that double latte before you reach your desk.

Cole Haan Zip Top Briefcase: Price tag: $417
The first thing you’ll notice about this briefcase is the high stance of the handle straps. Then you’ll notice the sublime hardware, followed by the discreetly pebbled leather. The Cole Haan Zip Top Briefcase is one subdued number from this Chicago-based label. Best of all, the zip top means that there are no gussets and no flip locks. Once it’s closed, it stays that way. And the exterior zip pockets let you stash those boarding passes between security checkpoints without fumbling in your jacket while removing your shoes.

Kenneth Cole Big Business briefcase: Price tag: $195
The Kenneth Cole Big Business briefcase is a modern bag with a hint of Old World style. Few designs come close to mixing old and new in the way this cheeky little number from Kenneth Cole does. This is one of those 2008 briefcases that has just enough leather to make it in any boardroom, and enough nylon to let you mix it up with various dress codes and wardrobes -- not to mention making it one durable bag.

2007 Luggage

There’s no better way to get excited about starting your vacation than packing all your necessities into a cool-looking bag or two.

Whether or not you travel frequently, a large suitcase and a weekender that can double as a carry-on are the minimum number of pieces you need to be able to pack your bags at a moment’s notice. It’s also useful if your set is somewhat distinct from everyone else’s since it will be much easier to scope it out in a sea of luggage.
To help you pick the set that’s most suitable for your lifestyle, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite pieces from 2007 that can be purchased individually or as part of a set, letting you stylishly mix and match your way to vacation paradise.

Samsonite
A luxe-looking silver finish gives Samsonite’s Graviton collection a futuristic edge that makes it suitable for jet-setters. If you tend to holiday in trendy, upscale locations, this set is the one to invest in. Functionally speaking, the hard-case shell will protect any valuables you have or are planning on bringing back, and there is ample room for all your clothes and souvenirs in the large-sized suitcase. A pop-up handle in combination with the wheels also means that despite its size, you’ll have no problem toting this sleek piece around the globe. Priced at around $320 USD for the largest suitcase, purchasing the entire set is not exactly cheap, but it’s certainly chic and will definitely get you noticed.

Tod’s
When you want to travel in style, do it with matching buttery soft leather duffle and accessory bags from Tod’s. These smooth and supple pieces exude easy luxury and deftly mix casual with professional, making the duffle model perfect for business travel, weekend excursions and even upscale gyms. For trips, check the duffle bag and use the computer bag as a carry-on. The messenger bag is perfect for everyday wear to and from your office, and to carry around daily necessities in a new city without looking like a tourist. Of course, designer products come with designer price tags, and these bags are no exception. However, superior construction and a go-everywhere look mean you should be able to get a good 10-years’ worth of use out of this collection. Give your look a European feel by adding a knee-length coat or a cropped jacket and work one of fall’s hottest trends.

Handbag of the week: Puma

Lydia Hearst Holiday bag (also available in asphalt grey), £90 at Puma

Party girl/model/keen tennis player (if this handbag is anything to go by) Lydia Hearst has paired up with Puma to bring you this patent, quilted racket bag.

Although it's unlikely you'll be saying ‘anyone for tennis' over Christmas it could be the perfect accompaniment to your get-slim-quick-so-I-can-fit-in-my-LBD-before-the-office-party gym sessions. On the other hand, the glamorous finish mixed with Puma's street aesthetic means you could make like the designer herself and take it on a night out.

This is Lydia Hearst's second bag collaboration with Puma. After starring in the company's global launch of French 77, Puma's highstyle range for men and women, in April, she designed the Lydia bag. Being part of a bespoke range means that there are a limited number of the new Lydia Holiday bags so you might want to take your racket with you when you go to buy it to fight off all the hoards.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Standard Supply Shopper

After the Anya Hindmarch I’m Not a Plastic Bag craze, many designers ventured into the realm of eco-friendly reusable bags.

This may not be the case with this Marc Jacobs bag, yet it is still an eco-friendly shopper that can be used for groceries and everyday wear. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Standard Supply Shopper is designed with navy canvas with white designer print on the front and a patch pocket on the bag. My favorite part about this bag is the perfect organization pockets on the inside, making it a great bag for school or work also. Everything is simple, there is white stitch detailing, a zip top fastening, and double shoulder straps. The price is below $100, which is great on your account. But in the simple canvas, eco-friendly trend, is this the bag you would opt for? Buy through NAP for $98.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Totally Turnlock Flap Clutch

Everyone should have at least one wallet that doubles as a clutch.

It is small, perfect to be held in hand, and even can carry your slim cell phone. And many of us use these wallet-clutches to go to the bar, which means we all do not want to spend an arm and a leg on it. We all know what happens at the bar, PARTY FOULS! So the colorful acid yellow Marc by Marc Jacobs Totally Turnlock Flap Clutch is the perfect clutch to add a splash of color to a practical accessory. While it is also available in mouse grey, the acid yellow really pops and makes this the perfect night-on-the-town clutch. The outside features a flap top with a turn-lock closure and the inside is adorned with eight card slots, three flat pockets, and a zip pocket and pouch. The aged silver metal hardware is low key yet perfect against the leather. The Marc by Marc Jacobs line has been nothing but amazing recently, offering bags that look amazing at prices that make you jump up and down for joy! Buy through eLuxury for a mere $168. This is a great holiday gift and a perfect stocking stuffer!

Jimmy Choo Riki Bag

The inside is lined in suede with beautiful lilac trim.

Right off the bat this handbag carries a very different look. The gray is a subtle hue, that is soothing, and then there are large circular studs that run up and down the sides of the bag. Yet the subtle gold metallic under-layer shines through the metallic gray perforated Jimmy Choo Riki Bag perfectly. The hardware is gold but it appears very subtle, as if it is silver, not gold. There are double top handles and one of Jimmy Choo’s signatures, thin straps of leather threaded through rings along the top. When I look at this bag I love it, but I can not put together exactly why. Why does a bag that seems to have quite a bit going on lure me in? Must be because I own plenty of ’simply’ bags and maybe I am subconsciously telling myself I need a new funky bag. If that is the case, thank you self for allowing myself to believe I need a new handbag. Buy through Net A Porter for $2,295.

Prada Crispy Nylon Tote

Resort bags are slowly trickling out for all of us to see.

And while the winter has not even hit yet, I am dreaming of our spring trip (destination unknown). There was a huge price hike on the Prada Nylon line last season, but for their resort line the nylon prices are again reasonable. I love the aquamarine coloring on the quilted nylon of the Prada Crispy Nylon Tote. Nothing super fabulous, but perfect to wipe off any spill, making this great for those who are toeing around their kids. The top handles are made with tonal leather and there is a removable shoulder strap, which comes in handy when you need to be hands free, and an ID tag. Also available in black. Both at Neiman Marcus for $760.

Louis Vuitton Fall Preview Monogram Mirage

Confession time! I have a girl crush on Scarlett Johannsen.

I know some of you might not agree, but just look at that ad! The flowing blond hair, the gorgeous color palette… GOTCHA… this isn’t a celebrity blog, this is a Purse Blog, right? Well move your eyes down a little and check out that bag! My heart stopped a beat when I first saw it on the runway months ago, and now that the print campaign is here my bank account’s heart has also stopped.

The new Louis Vuitton Monogram Mirage line has done the impossible by turning the boring monogram canvas into a true work of art. Notice that the LV monogram pattern gradually fades the closer it gets to the top of the bag. This is a process in photography know as degrade. There are also a couple new styles of bags being released in this line, most notably the Griet, which is shown in the ad above.

Now is the time to break the bad news to you. Like everything else in the Louis Vuitton world, these bags are coming to a store near you with a hefty price tag! OK….they are gorgeous bags, and yes they are limited edition bags…but I am still sticker-shocked by a price of (I’d advise you to sit down) $8,850 for an alligator trimmed canvas (say it with me people) yes canvas bag! But no fear, the average everyday person can snap up the Speedy 30 for a mere $1,800. Remember, these prices are subject to change (i.e. increase) before release. Sorry Louis Vuitton, I’m out! What do you think? Worth it or not?

All non-exotic trim bags released in your choice of black or bordeaux trim. An overview of a few Mirage bags below:

Diamond studded platinum handbag: $1.63 million

There was a time when I was certain the Hermes Diamond Crocodile Birkin was superfluous and one of the most, if not THE most, expensive bag in the world (costing $140,000).

Move on over Hermes, the Diamond studded platinum handbag designed by jewelery maker Ginza Tanaka cost a whopping $1.63 million to make. A stunning piece of art, this bag puts the spotlight on 2,182 diamonds totaling 208 carats. This creation was put on display in a fashion show in Tokyo. If you are really interested in buying, I am sure you could, but I will just be a looker. And we all thought that $3,000 on a handbag was pushing the envelope.

Fashionable bags for men

Any man of fashion knows that bags have become a necessary tool and style accessory. No longer seen as solely a woman’s item, men’s bags are masculine, attractive and ideal additions to any contemporary wardrobe. If you would like to dabble in the wide world of men’s bags, but don’t quite know which one would suit your needs best, heed this advice: Stick with a classic bag style, and you can’t go wrong.

1- Briefcase
Briefcases are probably the oldest form of “acceptable” handbags for men. Modern-day briefcases, however, have evolved a great deal since the days of your father’s sharp-cornered case. They’re no longer boxy; in fact, that’s about the only traditional element discarded in the modern briefcase. The classic shape (without the sharp corners), buckles, leather exterior, and practical interior compartments help make this bag a timeless addition to any working-man’s wardrobe.

2- Messenger bag
Aptly named, the messenger bag is designed after the bags traditionally carried throughout history by -- whom else? -- messengers. Often made from canvas and swung across the shoulder, messenger bags have taken on a whole new meaning in urban fashion. From students with canvas bags to urban hipsters with modern leather bags, the messenger’s laidback style will always have a classic casual flair, but today’s leather messenger tote also exudes a hint of uptown sophistication.

3- Holdall
Any traveling man needs a holdall for those weekend jaunts or three-day business trips. Big, bulky luggage has transformed into sleek, stylish holdalls (or carryalls). Its design is inspired by the duffel bag, but its predominantly leather exterior and more refined appearance attribute a classic look to this practical tote.

Fendi Neon Buckle Wallet

Oh the 80’s. A time of neon colors, MC Hammer pants, leg warmers, big hair, Rubik’s Cubes, and fingerless gloves. Sure it is fun to dress up for a party (key words here are dress up and party) in neon, but to carry it on a day to day basis is a fashion don’t.

I really want to meet with Fendi and ask what in the hell is going on with the latest designs. They are laughable to say the least. After the fug that was the Spy, there are now three neon metallic wallets. The Fendi Neon Buckle Wallet is available in the primary colors, red, yellow/orange, and blue, in Zucca print metallic neon coated leather. Why was this done? Somebody help Fendi, ASAP. There is a club nearby that has 80’s night, and a wallet like this would be the perfect accessory for that one night, but other than that I can not imagine pulling this fugly thing out of my handbag. I would turn red with embarrassment and wish to melt away. $395 at eLuxury available in blue, yellow/orange, and red.

Item of the Day

Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Softy' Tote

A good handbag can be a pricey investment so it's not just any old bag that catches our eye. It has to be PERFECT, and until we have the bank accounts of Paris Hilton, it can only happen twice a year.

Our Editor's Wishlist is already chock full of every other item for Spring; fringed scarves, trapeze dresses, thick bangles, metallic wedges, and so on...but when it comes to handbags, white is THE color to have, and we were having trouble finding something that really suited our fancy. Until...

Enter the White 'Softy' Tote from Marc by Marc Jacobs. It's a deep leather tote that features the 'Marc by Marc' logo, exterior flap pockets and large zippers. It's big, it's white, it's Spring, it's under $500. It's PERFECT! Until our Paris Hilton paycheck status kicks in, that is.

Would You Carry A Clear Bag?

When we noticed designers like Oscar de la Renta (left) sending clear bags down their Spring 2007 runways, we thought they were great accessories for the beach, vacation and hanging by the pool. But do you really want everyone to see what's inside your bag every day? That's where cute makeup cases come in -- to conceal your personal belongings. Try these striped black and white travel cases from sephora.com ($15-$35), or this Very Sexy velvet finish case from victoriassecret.com ($10). For a designer look, get the Louis Vuitton monogrammed cosmetic case at eluxury.com ($240). We have also rounded up some clear bags for you, from the Oscar's big splurge to a cute and cheap option from Target. But tell us: Would you carry a clear bag?

Naked news

Well, the good news is that you won’t have to dig around in your bag for your cellphone anymore. With one of this spring’s bags, you—and everyone within eyeshot—will have a front-row view of all your goods (that would be the bad news).
