The Extra 10 Percent: Hot Spring Accessories

With a nylon watch strap and a pair of classic sunglasses, your new accessories will put you over the edge.

Classic Sunglasses
Sunglasses are not an area in life where a man should be hip or trendy or ahead of the curve, so the next time you’re in the market for new shades, do yourself a favor and flip through a celebrity tabloid. Notice all the shapes, sizes, and tints favored by the flash-bitten young swells out in L.A., and then go in the opposite direction. They could be wire-rimmed aviators or chunky tortoiseshell frames -- Michael Kors’s latest sunglass collection, pictured here, offers variations on both -- but make sure they’re something you could imagine wearing next year, or even in ten years. Because the best sunglasses are always the classic ones.

Sunglasses (from top: $295, $235, and $200) by Michael Kors.

Nylon Watch Strap
Lose the metal or leather watchband for the summer and replace it with a nylon strap. It’s sweat-resistant and machine-washable, and you can easily swap out darker options (like the famous NATO strap, bottom, a favorite of J. Bond in Goldfinger) with more-colorful ones.

From top: Nylon straps by Smart Turnout ($30) and J. Press ($29); NATO strap ($22) available from West Coast Time; watches by Bell & Ross ($1,750), Breitling ($3,800), and IWC ($3,400).
