Ooh-La-LaChapelle [more]

Paris Hilton

V.F. contributing photographer David LaChapelle exists at the outer edge of outrageous iconography. From his magazine portraits to his in-your-face 2005 documentary, Rize, on the L.A. dance craze “krumping,” LaChapelle is a technicolor provocateur. This June, Taschen Books provides a glimpse into his ever expanding catalogue of fantastical portraits with LaChapelle: Artists & Prostitutes, an oversize, heftily priced limited edition of 2,500 signed copies. In his one-of-a-kind photos (some of which originally appeared in V.F.), LaChapelle manages to bring a pop-surrealistic eye to familiar faces: Leonardo DiCaprio as a Brando-esque wild one, Eminem ready to explode, Paris Hilton bound up—literally—in her own celebrity (left). Enter the bizarro dreamscape of LaChapelle-land. (Vanity Fair.com) Click above for more...
